Product information Framus 05701 Nashville, 1975

The Nashville models were Framus' answer in the early seventies to the new style of acoustic guitars that came from America and Japan and dominated the market more and more: modern features like a set-in neck, glued bridge with string pins, flat back, new modern logo and an uncompromising quality were supposed to stop the downfall, but came too late. Our Dreadnought has the date stamp 75C, so it was built in March 1975.

Everything here is very high quality! Solid spruce top, bookmatched manufactured. Back and sides also solid from beautifully grained maple. Solid, two-piece maple neck glued lengthwise, headstock front and back finished with flamed maple veneer. Rosewood fingerboard with mother-of-pearl dot inlays and rosewood bridge. Classic black Framus pickguard, open tuners.

Instruments history:
Unknown. The guitar was part of a collection of Framus acoustic guitars brought together between 2005 and 2010. Due to storage space constraints, it was handed in at the beginning of 2021. When we got it, an unsuitable pickguard from cheap China mass production was mounted - why, we do not know.

Restoration work:
All surfaces were cleaned and bale polished, the body was blown out. The tuners were refurbished and re-oiled. We removed the mismatched cheap pickguard and installed an original Framus Texan part from our stock. Fingerboard and frets were sanded and oiled or polished. Finally, new strings were mounted and a basic tuning was done.

Current condition:
This gorgeous blonde beauty is now back in original condition. Despite its 46 years, it is a modern guitar with some patina, but of course in top condition. The slightly matte transparent finish makes the beautiful woods look wonderful. The neck, fingerboard and frets are in mint condition. The top has some tiny dents or scratches, between pickguard and bridge you can see a light outline and a few small dents where the mismatched pickguard used to be mounted.  Everything is of course stable and resilient, all glue joints bombproof, everything works as it should. The playability is child's play, with the low string action of 2 mm at the 12th fret we have a top player on today's quality level. The sound is full, balanced, wonderfully warm and typical dreadnought: powerful and loud. Here the first-class material has its full effect. All in all a great opportunity for collectors! Or the one guitar for the faithful player!
