Hoyer Eagle Bass, 1980, in original case

Instrument:
The Hoyer Eagle represents the absolute pinnacle of bass construction and comes from a time when Hoyer was in the process of stealing the thunder from the best manufacturers worldwide. Here we have one of the rare originals from 1980 with the coincidentally matching serial number 80. In the set with original case and warranty card, the card proves the year of manufacture. This model was only available in 1979 and 1980. Quote schlaggitarren.de: "With their excellent staff, for example the great guitar maker Walter Krahl, the new owners of the Hoyer company succeeded in raising the quality of the instruments produced in the 80s to the highest level of quality, for example the Black Lady played by Peter Maffay, the Eagle models and various Gibson copies. Almost all models of that time had through necks, Seymour Duncan or DiMarzio pickups. Nevertheless, the company stopped production quite unexpectedly in autumn 1987."

Material:
This bass was built to last! Full-length neck made of three layers of maple and mahogany, plus four slim fixing layers, also maple and mahogany. Wenge fingerboard with round brass inlays. Maple body with a layer of spruce veneer and a layer of wonderful burl poplar to finish it off. All perfectly lacquered to a high gloss. Solid brass hardware, gold-plated Schaller tuners, splittable DiMarzio humbuckers - all of the very best.

Instruments history:
This bass was bought new by an enthusiast on November 12th, 1980 and actually never played until 2017! With its warranty card and original case, it spent its first 37 years in slumber. After the death of the first owner, the bass came to us and we immediately sold it on to a Hoyer collector who also just put it away in its case. He told us that he had played the bass maybe three times, of course only at home. Due to an unplanned private event, however, he now had to give away some pieces of his collection again - of course, we were happy to take over the bass again and are pleased to be able to offer you this unique piece here once more.

Restoration work:
None, of course. Just vacuum the outside of the case once...

Current condition:
You only get an opportunity like this once in a lifetime! The 42-year-old instrument is in immaculate new condition, as if it had just come from the shop. No scratches, no dents, no damage. The varnish shines like a mirror, the electrics are dewy, the case is intact - everything is just right here. The sound really knocks you off your feet: fat, powerful, dry, crisp, and endlessly variable. The through neck and the high-class technology set standards. It doesn't get any better than this. Visually, of course, the natural-coloured woods in their perfect finish are a feast for the eyes. Now we do not want to conceal the one "fault": Before the instrument came to us for the first time, someone removed the sticker of the music shop on the back of the headstock. And there is a bright spot now... That's really it, everything else is new old stock. Perfect for collectors and players alike, not a bargain, but worth every cent. We dare to say that there is no better Eagle bass in the world!
