Framus western guitars after 1972 ran out of their wonderful rosewood bridges: Due to cost savings, cheap black plastic bridges have been used. Unfortunately those deliver a worse sound because the „dead“ plastic does not forward harmonic vibrations to the wood as good as tonewood. With the plastic bridge there’s no direct contact between strings and wood! Secondary they’re not very solid, after 40 years of use you often find them twisted and out of shape.
That’s why we started to assemble handcrafted bridges of massive fine woods. You can hear it, you can see it! Each has been oiled and provides a silky matt shine. Measures match exactly with the original bridges. As Framus manufactured only rosewood bridges, our replicas are one-of-a-kind worldwide.
Even without practice, replacement is very easy to handle, all you need is a screwdriver. The bridges perfectly match with all 6 and 12 string models, just take the metal parts to the new bridge. Bridges are just bolt-on, not glued to the top.
Beyond the displayed bridges, we always have versions of rare woods, don’t hesitate to ask for our stock offers.
